Talk therapy
Talk therapy also known as psychotherapy can be an important part of treatment for many mental health issues. We can help people cope with feelings, problem solve and change behaviour patterns that may contribute to one’s symptoms of distress.
Some of the therapies we provide include Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Motivational interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
Sometimes therapy may involve homework, such as tracking moods, writing down thoughts, or participating in social activities that have caused anxiety in the past. People might be encouraged to look at things in a different way or learn new ways to react to people and events.
Therapy is brief and focused on your current life issues. Focusing on the past can help explain things in your life, but focusing on the current issues can help you cope with the present and prepare for your future.
